Organize an activity
NICA relies on the input of its members to create a diverse, interesting and challenging curriculum that appeals to and encompasses many different sub-disciplines within cultural analysis, so as to form an intellectual home to a broad audience of scholars. Whether you are a PhD-candidate, mid-career or senior staff member, or a ResMA student, we encourage you to initiate new activities and events to keep the academic community dynamic and lively. In general, we encourage collaborations with other (international) institutes, universities or organizations.
So if there is a topic that you think should receive more attention, or if you are working on an event or project – varying from a reading group or masterclass with recurring instalments to a one-time masterclass, or from conferences to (public) lectures – that aligns with NICA’s values and mission statement, do not hesitate to contact us with a proposal for your activity. NICA, in turn, can offer funding (where and if needed), exposure to a large network of international scholars through our channels, and/or the opportunity to attract students by offering ECTS credits for your activity.
We invite you to use this form as a guideline for your application, so as to ensure that you will submit all required information.
If you have questions about organizing your activity through NICA, or as to the process of applying for support, please contact NICA’s director, Pepita Hesselberth (nica@hum.leidenuniv.nl). Once the submitted proposal has been approved by the NICA executive team, you can begin planning the event. We are more than happy to assist you with logistical or practical matters.
